Sometimes a refresh turns into something pretty special. That’s the case in this West Fargo home, where a quick, Thanksgiving-to-Christmas facelift made this family’s holidays a little more merry and bright. 

For this project, the kitchen took center stage. New luxury vinyl plank flooring brightens the space, while quartz countertops add a sleek, modern look. The on-trend herringbone tile backsplash is visually interesting without being distracting, and new Thermador appliances offer both style and functionality. 

One of the most unique elements of this project, however, comes from the homeowner himself. A talented woodworker, he modified the existing cabinetry and created a custom range hood featuring Black Limba wood sourced from Africa. 

Behind the scenes, a few smart upgrades improved everyday comfort. A new, tankless water heater boosts efficiency, while a mini-split A/C unit installed in the garage keeps the homeowner’s woodshop cool during summer projects.
