Our Process

Every project starts with a conversation. Whether it’s on-site, in person or online, we’ll meet you where you’re most comfortable. During the consultation, we’ll ask questions to help us better understand your dreams and the vision you have for your custom build or remodel project.

After the consultation, the fun really begins. The design and drawings phase of your project is when we put everything on paper. We know that clear plans create clear expectations, which is why you can count on us to:

• Gather inspiration, including floor plans and styles you love;

• Document your space using cutting-edge technology like Matterport for greater accuracy; and 

• Develop detailed drawings through our in-house design team — or partner with lumber yards or an architect if that’s the direction you choose. 

This step typically takes 2-3 weeks, but through it all, you can rest easy knowing that we’ll always keep you in the loop.

Once your custom build or home remodel plans are ready, our team meets with you to walk through every detail. This is also when you’ll receive finalized drawings and a product selection sheet to ensure we’re pricing exactly what you want (and what your budget allows for).

Our thorough, transparent approach to pricing means you won’t be blindsided. Over the course of approximately four weeks, we coordinate bid submissions with trade partners and then take the time to review, refine and adjust — helping make sure you get the most out of your investment. 

Once the numbers have been worked out, we share a detailed proposal with you that outlines the project scope, fee and a draft timeline for completion, and then work through any remaining decisions with you so you can feel confident moving forward.

When you’re ready to proceed, our team finalizes a detailed contract that includes state-specific requirements so you know exactly what to expect. 

What else sets us apart? Monthly billing based on completed work — meaning you only pay for what’s done.

Take it from us: Communication is a cornerstone of our work. When you work with AP Signature Homes, you can expect a high level of engagement throughout your project, including regular updates via text and email.

Project completion means it’s time to start making memories in your new space! In step six, you’ll receive information about warranty coverage and your final billing. Additionally, with most projects we lead, we’ll also provide you with a detailed operations and maintenance manual.
